Chicago Black History Month Celebrations

Happy Black History Month! Black History Month is observed annually in February to honor Black history and heritage. In celebration, several organizations will be hosting events in the Chicagoland area.

Check out a few of the events that will be happening:

Garfield Park Community Council is hosting a Neighborhood Market in celebration of Black History Month and Valentine’s Day on Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at The Hatchery Chicago.

The National Urban League is hosting a Black History Month Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, February 11 from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST.

K.L.E.O Community Center is hosting a Mobile Food Pantry during Black History Month on Wednesday, February 12 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at K.L.E.O. Community Center, 119 E. Garfield Blvd.

Kennedy-King College is hosting a Black History Month Vendor Day on Wednesday, February 12 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Kennedy King College W-Building Atrium.

BUILD Chicago is hosting The Black Table 2025 on Monday, February 17 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corp

Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corp is hosting a Black History Month Vendor Showcase every Friday from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Auburn Gresham Healthy Lifestyle Hub, 839 W 79th Street.

BUILD Chicago is hosting a Black History Month Family Night on Wednesday, February 26 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the BUILD campus, 5100 W. Harrison Street, Chicago.

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is hosting a event in honor of this year’s Black History Month theme, "African Americans and Labor.” This event will be held on Thursday February 20 from 4:45 PM - 6:45 PM at Barbara J. McGowan Main Office Building, 100 E. Erie Street, Chicago.
